Lost at Sea
The Channel Islands National Park is probably the most blissfully secluded place I've ever visited. An hour boat ride will find you on a oceanside cliff with no running water, electricity, or cars--just insanely friendly wildlife. An island fox came up to me and practically hired me for a portrait session. Other wildlife included over a thousand common dolphins, a bald eagle, two ospreys, and several small children. I'm beyond glad I finally made it out of LA; the nonstop semester I've been having left me with a serious fresh air/national park deficit. New goal courtesy of the amazing mama Patty: visit as many national parks as possible this year to celebrate NPS' 100th anniversary.
